Cake Care

When collecting your cake by car, please transport the cake FLAT in either the footwell or the boot – not on a seat or on a lap – and drive carefully.

Please do not turn on the car's heater in winter, and during warmer weather please use air conditioning if you have it. Buttercream cakes are delicate and do not cope well with heat and movement.

During warm weather:
Please put your cake into the fridge as soon as possible. All cakes are supplied straight from the fridge so that they are firm for transportation. However, the buttercream may soften in the car and, depending on the length of the journey, the cake layers may slip if the cake is not chilled again at the earliest opportunity.

For the best flavour and texture, cakes should be removed from the fridge 1–2 hours before serving so they can come to room temperature.

A cake care leaflet is supplied with every cake.
